Please note if you plan to start from a culture solution or liquid culture syringe you need to begin with sterilized rye or multi grain substrate. Your gourmet mushroom spores can not be started directly on the manure based substrate.
Manure based mushroom substrate is specially formulated mushroom growing substrate for growing dung loving edible gourmet mushrooms. Out-Grow uses field leached horse manure, shreds it and then fortify it with all the necessary minerals and vitamins that mushrooms need to grow. Out-Grow gets its manure form one single source. There horses are organically fed and very healthy. By processing the manure and mixing it with various ingredients Out-Grow has created the absolute best manure based mushroom growing substrate on the market today. A perfect mix of horse manure, coconut coir, gypsum, vermiculite and other additives creating a 100% organic and natural equine dung based mushroom substrate. Manure based mushroom substrate should be used in conjunction with our mushroom grain spawn, rye berries for optimal results but any fully colonized substrate will work to inoculate the manure based substrate. Growing with mushroom grow bags
Manure based mushroom substrate comes to your front door hydrated, pasteurized and ready to inoculate with your colonized spawn! You will receive your substrate in a heat sealed medium or large mushroom grow bags with a .05 micron filter patch to provide perfect fresh air exchange and filter out bacteria and other contaminates. Size of the bag will depend on quantity ordered. For our one pound bags of substrate the bag size is 4″ X 3″ X 18″ with a 5 micron filter patch. For our 5 pound bags we use 15″ X 24″ bags with a 5 micron filter patch. We use the largest spawn bags available to insure plenty of room for substrate and the fruiting mushrooms. By cultivating in these mushroom grow bags you don’t have to adjust humidity in a fruiting chamber or worry about contaminates compromising your grow. Manure based mushroom substrate can be stored at room temps in the original packaging for up to 3 months. It is always best to use our products as soon as possible.
